See “formless” at Drawing Rooms! The exhibit features nearly 80 works by more than 60 artists.

These works can project a sense of poetic lightness, fragility, and etherealness in weight, volume, color, or mass, or that may be atmospheric and seem to defy gravity. Some of the works may evoke within the viewer a meditative sense of calm, in others, a sense of mystery, including works that are abstract, objective, nonobjective, narrative, or imbued with formal qualities of line and shape.

Drawing Rooms Solo Project Space:
Anders Goldfarb-”Ash Avenue”

Ash Avenue is an allegorical autobiography alluding to memory, experience and fate. "In 1988, I began selecting some of my surreal and visceral images that reflected my life. After years of editing, I completed the project."

Photography in the Alcove Gallery: 4 series of works

Amy Becker: DEAD RINGERS: Portraits of abandoned payphones in public places.

Edward Fausty: "Moving Mountains" Taken from a moving car in China, the large-scale muted toned images recall classic Chinese painting, and convey the experience of moving through the landscape.

Lynne Breitfeller: "After the Fire: Water-Damaged" explores photographs as memory by examining the shape-shifting potential of altered images

Peter Emerick: “Koans” is a body of work that the artist has been exploring for over 30 years. It is a series of photographs of traffic cones taken on the street and in the studio-spun into hypnotic patterns.

Curated by Anne Trauben.
